A Supportive and Professional Team

Wini Health programs are designed and delivered by Allied Health Professionals to help older adults stay active, engaged, and independent. Our team comprises experienced Allied Health experts from different areas, including sports scientists, physiologists, exercise instructors, and culinary experts.

Your Toolkit

Health Goals & Tracking

At Wini Health, we believe in evidence-based practice, not gimmicks. Our programs are based on clinical experience, scientific research and decades of on-the-ground practice.

Your dashboard is a useful tool to supply you with feedback about your engagement with Wini Health. You will notice the progress bars under each category (e.g. Cardio). The Australian Government Exercise Guidelines are used as a reference point for you to measure your progress against. For example, if you have completed 50 minutes of Cardio classes, your progress bar will show 33% completed. Please keep in mind that if you do other exercise away from the Wini platform, you should take that into account when measuring your adherence to these guidelines.

For those who are interested in understanding your baseline measures to help track your progress, we have delivered some user-friendly exercise tests that you can self-administer. Please find these in our ‘Exercise Tests’ category. We recommend re-visiting these tests every 8-12 weeks to check your progress and to help boost your motivation towards achieving your health goals.

Our ‘Technique’ or ‘How to’ Libraries are there to assist your understanding of how to correctly perform the exercises so you can yield the best results.

Nutrition & Wellness Seminars

We believe that people are smart, and that they are interested to understand why they are being asked to engage in certain health behaviour. Our Medical Doctor and Allied Health Professional Team oversee the education and research elements of our platform. Because of this, we strongly promote attendance to our education seminars. Quarterly, members of the Wini Health Team will deliver health education seminars either face-to-face or at an online event. If you are unable to attend, we record the sessions and periodically provide them on the platform for on-demand viewing at your leisure. Our cooking corner sessions have been reviewed by our dietitian for general population recipes. Please ensure that if you have special dietary considerations, you take the appropriate action for replacements in the recipe.

Wini Community Platform

There's more!

In addition to your personal Wini account, at some locations, Wini Health can be used in your communal spaces, like clubhouses. Here, groups of friends can come together and participate in scheduled virtual classes together - this makes it more fun!

Ask your Community Manager, or contact us to check if your site has access to this yet.

If your site is set up to use this, you can browse a timetable of classes that have been scheduled in your space and simply arrive to join the movement.

There are some useful videos and documents on this site to show you how this works, or you can contact us or ask your Community Manager how to use it.

FAQs

1. Who can use Wini?

Wini is designed for EVERYBODY! It doesn't matter what your exercise history is, how old you are, or what kind of ability you have, Wini has something for everyone.

2. What's the difference between Wini "Wellness" and "Lifestyle"?

Wini Lifestyle is our program that's specifically designed for those who are 60+. Whilst it's specifically designed with 60+ in mind, it's still perfectly fine for those who are not in that category to try. Similarly, our 60+ participants are welcome to use the "Wellness" range too.

3. Who designs your programs?

We're glad you asked! All our movement programs are designed and overseen by Accredited Exercise Physiologists, Sports Scientists, and Physiotherapists, so you can rest assured they are safe, and effective.

4. What level is for me?

This depends on YOU! You decide what your body needs and go with that. A useful scale is Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) - between 4-6 is advised. See the video on Wini about RPE for more. We have levels for whatever level you feel like working at today.

Start Me:
A great place if you are starting out, or if you just want to move easily in your training.

Motivate Me:
Varying intensities where you can be comfortable and slightly challenge yourself!

Challenge Me:

The place you will take yourself out of your comfort zones for periods of the class.

5. What do I need in order to participate?

Medical clearance is always advised first. Then, all you need is yourself, an open mind, a bit of space without trip hazards and that's it. Bonus points if you bring a mate to join you!

6. Do I need medical clearance before using Wini?

Yes. You know your body best, always take the option that feels best for you. Exercise within the limits of your current fitness level, you are responsible for deciding what is safe, and sensible for you.

If you have any injuries, or history of injuries, ask your health professionals before proceeding. If at any time you feel discomfort, pain, dizziness, or nausea, you should discontinue exercising immediately.

To the extent permitted by law, Wini Health and its affiliates disclaim any and all liability in connection with the exercises in these videos, and any instructions and advice permitted.
